The Brief

A private school in Armidale NSW identified the need for a new multi-purpose building that could support a range of uses including; undercover area for PDHPE and sporting activity, an additional learning space to maximise student experience and an area to accomodate school assemblies and various events.

Our Innovative Solution

Drawing on over 25 years experience in custom buildings for the educational and recreational sectors, Techspan partnered with the client through the design, engineering, manufacture and construction of this brand new, purpose built facility.

The 17m (w) x 30m (l) x 7.5m (h) structure consists of a structural steel frame, precast concrete dado panels and cladding.

Techspan designed and manufactured an architectural style eave and awning and incorporated a multi-colour scheme to match the existing school buildings.

Automated louvers were installed to each side (long elevations) to maximise airflow/ventilation.

A 11.5 m (w) x 5m (h) custom designed bi-folding door was scoped and commissioned for this project.

Installed to the school yard end of the hall, this door features remote control operation, inset windows for maximum visibility and natural light, rubber and brush seals to minimise weather ingress and is finished in the same cladding colour and profile as the main building for a seamless aesthetic.
