Camden NSW School Cola

The Mater Dei school Camden NSW, was seeking a large cola for the purpose of enabling a multi-purpose outdoor learning and physical education space.

The Brief

Deliver a compliant, multi-purpose COLA to support outdoor learning, physical education and daily school use.
The structure needed to integrate with the existing campus, provide weather protection, and create a functional space that could be used year-round.

Our Innovative Solution

TechSpan worked closely with the project team to develop a practical, buildable solution aligned to site and school requirements.

We designed, engineered and manufactured a curved roof COLA featuring circular structural columns, creating a clean architectural finish while maintaining structural efficiency.

COLORBOND® roof sheeting was paired with translucent panels to introduce natural light into the space, improving usability throughout the day without relying on artificial lighting.

A cantilever awning was also incorporated to provide continuous undercover access into the main COLA, improving movement and usability during all weather conditions.

Delivered in partnership with Secure Building Solutions, the result is a durable, fit-for-purpose structure designed to perform in an active school environment.
