Monitor Lifts were seeking an extension to their existing building inTamworth NSW to enable them to increase their machinery storage and servicing area. The vision was to design a seamless extension that complimented the existing retail, office and warehouse space that was also structure to maximise efficiency and productivity.
Monitor Lifts is a National provider of new Spider Lifts and Rail Boom Lifts. They also specialise in the hire and servicing of this equipment as well as a range of used lift machinery.
Monitor Lifts identified the need to expand their existing facility in Tamworth NSW to enable them to increase their capacity and offering to the regional market, including; a larger range and number of machinery on hand for sales and/or hire, as well as additional servicing bays.
Techspan was approached to deliver a solution that would not only meet Monitor Lifts’ requirements but also ensure that the solution was build to last.

Our Innovative Solution
Drawing on over 25 years experience in custom shed, the team at Techspan tailored the design, engineering and manufacture to this 27m wide x 53m long x 10.5m high shed extension to suit the exact needs of their client.
The extension consisting of 2 main sections; a 15m loading bay and main shed.
The loading bay section seamlessly joins to the existing building through using the same 15 degree roof pitch and matching the external materials. To one side, the loading bay features a multi-leaf stacking sliding door system including custom manufactured bottom roll sliding doors and door tracks sunken into the slab to maximise accessibility. This system not only increases security but also provides weather and wind protection.
The opposite side features a cantilever awning to maximise under cover area and all weather goods landing. The loading zone features translucent sheeting across the span to maximise natural light.
The main shed adjoining features a stepped roof to maximise the warehouse height and allow for the 10 tonne gantry crane. With a service door included in each shed bay, Techspan fabricated custom bracing to ensure maximum strength and durability. The main shed includes 2.4 dado concrete panels to one side and a centred ridge and ventilation louvres to maximise airflow and climate control.
Techspan were extremely proud to support Monitor Lifts to achieve a positive outcome for their Tamworth facility and even more proud to hear the positive feedback that our client are extremely happy with the building; “it looks great, came together really well, site works were well managed and efficient”.
We look forward to seeing Monitor Lifts to continue to grow into their brand new purpose built space.
