[Case Study] School COLA in Plumpton NSW

Design Brief

The customer needed a large covered outdoor learning area for a double basketball court.

It was important that it was rust resistant, bird proofed, and had nothing that children could climb on.

The design and construction of the school COLA had to adhere to the Department Of Educations school building standards.

Unique Project Requirements

The school wanted to include a curved roof in design of the COLA. It was important that the building was bird proof and adhere to the Department Of Educations design specifications.

Techspan Innovative Solution

The shed was designed with a curved roof and later approved by an independent Registered Structural Engineer. This ensure the COLA was safe, strong and adhered to all design specifications.

To bird proof the cover, we included sheets of colour board over the curved truss for its entire width. This eliminated any potential roosting points.
